A Little Bit About My Approach to Wedding Photography

“We forgot you were there!”

In any other situation this would be an insult, but I pride myself on my ability to blend in, stay out of the way, and get the job done. And by “job”, I mean the wonderful, amazing opportunity of being able to capture the true soul of your wedding from beginning to end.

I think getting the best photos is all about striking a balance.  I don’t want to take over or interrupt too much, but I don’t want to miss the chance for some absolute killer shots. Sometimes I might see if you want to run out for 5 minutes in the evening because the light is just PERFECT but I will totally respect your right to party. I try not to give any cheesy prompts or poses, but just focus on getting those moments which are just really “you”.

I know it’s important to feel comfortable with your photographer, so I will always make sure we have a chance to meet either in person or virtually before you decide if you want to book, and I’ll make sure we meet up again at least once before your wedding – you don’t want a stranger around on your wedding day!

A Little Bit About Me

Hey, I’m Charlie! Like most people I’m sure, I find writing about myself incredibly cringy (I really should have hired a copy writer for this!). Here’s a few bullet points about me and hopefully you’ll get a feel for me – please feel free to drop me a message and tell me a bit about you too!

• I live just off Stokes Croft with my boyfriend, Ash and our cat, Thompson. He (the cat) is my favourite thing in the world, even if he only just about tolerates me. My boyfriend is OK too.
• I’ve started climbing recently and absolutely love it. I have no upper body strength so I’m not very good, but I am motivated.
• I am pretty obsessed with food. I love eating out, and Bristol is probably the best place for it! Feel free to throw me any restaurant recommendations.
• I watch a lot of comedy shows. My favourites are Parks & Rec (or most Michael Shur shows), It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Peep Show to name a few.
• While I’m editing photos, you can guarantee I’m listening to my 00s Pop Punk playlist. My music taste hasn’t really progressed since I was 14.
• I have only just got in to gaming in my 30s. So far, I love Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption2 but I have years to catch up on!
