There’s so many amazing barn wedding venues around Bristol. I know I haven’t photographed a wedding at all of them (yet!) but here are a few of my favourites if you’re struggling to find the perfect rustic venue for your wedding day in the South West.
Priston Mill
If you’re considering a barn wedding venue, I wouldn’t look much further than Priston Mill just outside Bath. This venue has TWO barns for you to choose from – the Watermill and the Tythe Barn. Both are amazing spaces with plenty of unique features. The Watermill in particular I love with its functioning water mill encased in glass in the basement. The grounds for both are beautifully landscaped and if you’re feeling adventurous, you can trek across the river to the gorgeous fields overlooking the venue. You can also have an outdoor ceremony at both venues!Check out an example of Priston Mill wedding photography here.
Cripps Barn
Ahh Cripps Barn! I photographed a wedding here in winter and honestly, it was magical! The roaring fire place, the fairy lights, the lanterns and fire pit made this a wonderfully cozy barn venue for a winter wedding and the candle lit wedding breakfast was incredibly special. It would also make a lovely summer venue with the glass front and gorgeous grounds. It’s a bit of an all rounder! There’s a modern extension attached to the main barn which is incredibly well done with a vaulted ceiling and bar.See an example of Cripps Barn wedding photography here.
Great Tythe Barn
Great Tythe Barn is a particularly iconic wedding venue in Tetbury! As you can expect from the name, it is a very large venue with an impressive great hall fixed with a huge canopy of fairy lights and overlooked by two mezzanines. This venue feels particularly grand and special and is definitely made for a wedding! The stage at the front is ideal for the wedding ceremony and also the band set up in the evening, and there’s a large, comfy break out area upstairs for coffee.

The Barn at Berkeley
The Barn at Berkeley is such an underrated wedding venue in my opinion! I mostly think this because you can have exclusive use of the play barn for you and your guests in the evening after it’s closed to the public and who doesn’t want to drunkenly fall in to a ball pit or throw yourselves down a giant slide?! Even if that option doesn’t sound appealing, the venue itself is so beautiful. The large room always looks beautiful for a rustic wedding breakfast and it transitions well from day to night. The grounds out the back are a peaceful retreat that you wouldn’t expect and had a gorgeous pond and covered patio. Out the front is a fountain and canopy of fairy lights. It’s a great all-rounder! Kingscote Barn
Kingscote Barn is an incredibly popular wedding venue in the South West and it’s no wonder why! This gorgeous rustic venue setting in the middle of the countryside outside Gloucester is the idea spot for a relaxed day. The large barn room with a mezzanine is perfect for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening party but there’s also two enormous break out rooms to the back so there’s plenty of indoor space to mingle when the room is being turned around. It’s also equipped for outdoor ceremonies in summer and there’s a large lawn perfect for games and group photos. The views are really special from this barn, and it’s a real retreat.
