DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

To me, the true heart of wedding photography is capturing all those moments that are totally unscripted, from the hilarious dance moves to the touching, meaningful hugs. I even try and keep your group photos relaxed and fun. I’m more than happy for people to be chatting with a glass of bubbly while I take the shots!

The only time I really interrupt is to grab you for your couples shots. A lot of people say that they don’t want many couples photos or that they aren’t comfortable in front of the camera, but I’ve always found that on your wedding day your portraits are some of the only times you get to be alone together.  I love capturing those moments as you chat and relive the day so far, and catch up about how the morning prep went for both of you. You’ll totally forget I’m there!

I only take you out for photos when you won’t miss too much of your day – normally for 10 minutes while guests are seated for food, and sometimes another 10 minutes as the wedding breakfast is winding down. I always try to find the perfect balance between not spending hours arranging shots on the day, but also ending up with incredible images you can look back on after the wedding.

LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER FIRST

I always suggest meeting you for a drink (or a video call if you are a bit further afield!) so we can get to know each other before you decide to book. Absolutely no strings attached, and I won’t force you to make a decision there and then! I know booking your wedding photographer is a huge decision and I want to make sure I am someone that you feel comfortable around. I will be a part of the most important day of your life (even if I really try to stand back and let you enjoy your day) so it’s really essential that I’m someone you want to share the day with. I am also happy to help you with any planning questions and tips!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER?

I individually edit every wedding photo but my editing style is quite minimal and I try to keep the photos bright and lively images which will still look classic and modern when you look back at them on your 50th wedding anniversary!

I also throw in a few black and white wedding photos as some are more suited to this style. I try to return your pictures as quickly as possible, as I know how eager you will be to see them (normally within 6-8 weeks). Your wedding photos will be uploaded to a private gallery online for you to share with your friends and family, and download in high resolution.
